World’s richest man will be in India next week, may face protest from thousands of traders.


Amazon founder and CEO Jeff bezos is coming to India next week and chances are high that he will meet PM Modi and official along with industry leaders. He will also attend SMBhav , an event which is going to happen in Delhi on Jan 15-16.The topic for the discussion is “How technology adoption can enable SMB in India”. Different industry experts , policy makers and Amazon leadership is going to participate in it.

Amazon’s CEO may face protest of 1,00,000 of traders during his trip.  CAIT (Confederation of All India Traders) which is a group representing 70 millions brick and mortars retailers is planning to protest across major cities during his visit. CAIT is accusing retail giant Amazon involving in unfair trade practices of deep discount and violating foreign investment rules. Amazon had denied these accusations earlier.

During meeting with PM Modi chances are high that topic will be around rules and regulation that are changed recently in e-commerce. For Amazon India is a huge market of 1.3 billions people having smartphone with cheap data in almost everyone hand.

Till now neither Amazon nor prime minister office confirmed the visit.
