According to a senior official, BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha will no longer be considered a VIP at Patna airport.
A senior official said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shatrughan Sinha will no longer be considered a VIP at Patna airport.
On December 31, Rajendra Singh Lahoria, director at Jaiprakash Narayan Airport, said that Sinha, who was previously free of security checks and regular frisking, will no longer have privileges.
The facilities were extended to Sinha for a period which ended in June this year. No orders have been received for extending the same”, informed Jay Prakash Narayan Airport’s Director Lauhariya.Lauhariya was replying to queries about facilities extended to the former Union Minister.
Shatrughan Sinha was elected to the Lok Sabha from the Patna Sahib constituency as a BJP MP in 2014 but has since effectively disenfranchised himself from the party, becoming a staunch critic. With elections coming once again there is some significant amount of doubt over whether he’ll be given a ticket to re-contest the seat once more or whether he’ll join another party.
